I'm Ryan Youngs, a software engineer based in Michigan. I build tools and systems that are useful, understandable, and maintainable — and I write about the interesting problems I encounter along the way.

My work spans full-stack web development, mobile apps, and audio/media technology. I care about getting the details right: clear APIs, good documentation, and software that behaves predictably.

Outside of code, I'm involved with WHFR 89.3 FM at Henry Ford College in Dearborn, MI, where I built and maintain the WHFR.FM live audio streaming app.
